“Most people don’t know that I’m an introvert.”
When I have said in the past in various settings that I am an introvert the response is, almost without fail, surprise. Especially in a work setting. I guess the general (but frankly, erroneous) consensus is that being introverted is not consistent with having the strength of personality and leadership qualities necessary to run a business or anything else for that matter. Hence the surprise I guess, given my resumé!
Many of the most effective, inspiring and highly-regarded leaders I have met over the years have been self-confessed introverts.
And this article from Forbes (Why introverts can make the best leaders) goes some way to explaining why sometimes, you’ll find quite a number of innies quietly working their way to the top – or at the top – of their chosen field or organisation.
Yay for being an introvert! Takes all sorts you see. This is a good thing, no? 🙂

Read the article and I agree with everything it says. I’m also an introvert but it hasn’t stopped me from starting a successful business and helping inspire others to fulfill their potential.
